Elmo the Elf and Lop the Hare

A secret place high in a tree
Is where Elmo stays so no one can see
He sings and dances and roams around
He’s quite mischievous when on the ground
Shuffling leaves and flowers fly
He can’t be seen he’s only six inches high
Suddenly a darkened shadow appears
Danger, danger, he surely feared
It seems to be a giant of sorts
Looks like bear with an evil snort
He rubbed his eyes a vision clear
It was a rabbit so very near
Hello, said the hare my name is Lop
I travel around and love to hop
And you would be?
With hands in his pocket he murmured his name
The hare assured him he was really tame
Well, Elmo don’t be scared
Come play with me if you really dare
Would you like a ride on this fine day
I can travel far or we can stay
Elmo was surprised having not been attacked
So having no fear he jumped on his back
A new friend he found right before his eyes
Bouncing around because of his size
A smile so big what a great surprise
Just be careful Elmo said, not too far away
The town will come looking if I stray
So off they went two unlikely pair
Elmo the Elf, and Lop the Hare
